Shibboleth 404 Redirect HTTP Error

The wonderful word... Shibboleth! HTTP 404 Redirect Error

 You may be as frustrated as I was today when I got in to the office to find out that Shibboleth was no longer working(All of the time)It seemed to have an intermittent problem which mainly broke on our Windows 7 Machines with Internet Explorer 8.

 

 

 

So, Shibboleth fails with a HTTP 404 Internet Explorer 8/7 Windows 7 after you log in.. How do you fix this? Simple.. Really Simple..

 

Disable Internet Explorer 8 Protected Mode.. Job done, it works!

 

To disable IE Protected Mode via Group Policy edit the following:

 

Computer configuration>Administrative templates>windows components>Internet explorer>Internet control Panel>Security page>Intranet zone  

choose "Turn on protected mode". If you disable this policy setting, Protected Mode will be turned off.
